Biography:

Mrs. Scriven was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where she attended DeWitt Clinton High school. She was section leader in the marching band, a member of the lady governors step and basketball team, and an all star cheerleading squad captain. Mrs. Scriven followed her older sister to attend Benedict College in Columbia, SC on an academic and band scholarship. Mrs. Scriven was a peer tutor for 4 years as well as a presidential trophy recipient. Mrs. Scriven participated in atom transfer radical polymerization organic chemistry research as well as bioengineering of Min 6 beta cells with encapsulation transplantation with the University of South Carolina.
Mrs. Scriven returned back to New York after receiving her bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Mrs. Scriven taught Middle School after school for two years. Mrs. Scriven relocated to Fayetteville NC in 2014. Mrs. Scriven started with TCEA in October of 2016 as a substitute teacher. Mrs. Scriven assumed the role of Middle School Math and Science long-term substitute until June of 2017. Mrs. Scriven taught 5th grade science in summer school and in July of 2017 she joined TCEA as the 5th grade classroom teacher.
